Debt recovery: negotiation-led information
Sole trader debt recovery
Sole traders may face an unpaid invoice that affects cash flow or a disputed business charge. Private Resolve considers whether a pre-legal conversation could clarify the amount and the route to voluntary resolution.
Make an enquiryWho this page is for
The facts matter: identify whether the transaction was personal or business, the trading name used, the contract or order, the invoice and any service or delivery dispute. A sole trader is not a separate company, so the parties and capacity need to be clear.
One independent process
The person making the enquiry does not become a represented client. Where suitable, Private Resolve invites both parties to take part in one independent, voluntary discussion. Private Resolve does not act for either side, and the process only proceeds if both are willing and the scope is agreed in advance.
What the first review considers
We look at the nature of the debt, the parties, the evidence, any dispute, prior contact, urgency and the role requested. Any offer of service must be confirmed in writing before another party is contacted.
- Separate business correspondence from any personal disagreement
- Describe any quality, completion or payment-plan issue
- Seek legal advice where insolvency, a claim or limitation deadline is involved
Scope and limits
These pages describe pre-legal negotiation only. They do not offer a general debt collection, debt tracing, debt administration or enforcement service. Whether an activity requires authorisation depends on the facts and role. Private Resolve does not claim authorisation or an exemption here; work outside a confirmed permitted scope will not be undertaken. No recovery is guaranteed.
Possible next steps
If suitable, the next step may be an agreed negotiation plan, a voluntary repayment proposal or a referral to independent legal advice. If court action or a deadline is already active, speak to a solicitor promptly.
