Understand the process
Civil and financial dispute mediation
Mediation is a voluntary way for people in a civil or financial dispute to explore a settlement with an impartial mediator. It is different from a representative negotiating for one party.
Make an enquiryDisputes that may be discussed
Civil and financial disagreements can involve an unpaid personal loan, a private sale, a shared expense or a disagreement about payment. Suitability depends on the subject, safety, capacity to participate and whether both sides can make informed choices.
What a neutral process requires
The mediator should explain their role, training or accreditation, fee, process, confidentiality terms and any limits. Participants should know that the mediator does not give legal advice, decide the dispute or force a settlement.
Where Private Resolve fits
Private Resolve does not claim mediation accreditation. We distinguish one-party negotiation support from neutral facilitation and will not blur the two roles. Enquiries involving family law, children, domestic abuse or high-risk circumstances are outside this service scope.
Next steps
If you need formal mediation, select an appropriately qualified provider and check their credentials directly. If you need legal advice about a claim or deadline, consult a solicitor.
